"tatoos go beyond art and fashion they reflect deep-rooted cultural and ethnic heritage"
I agree with the thesis because nowadays tattoos are used for the reason that they look very pretty in the body and because they are trendy but before the tribes were used having many functions such as with as a symbol of status and to scare the enemy in the battles, also still an important cultural symbol that has been used by many native populations.
A clear example is the Maori tribe of New Zealand where tattoos have a key roll as these are used in many ways like to scare the enemy, the more tattoos you have one this means you have more experience, they start tattooing from 8 years onwards and women are not left behind as these also are tattooed, especially on the face and head are the most important parts of the body to this tribe.
Tattoos today are heavily used, mostly by people who make this art on your skin because they are beautiful and attract attention with these, too many famous such as rock stars, models and also football players who tattoo the name of their children or women and celebrate scoring a goal giving kisses to them.
In conclusion, today tattoos have lost the value and meaning given to them before, since most people today are doing these for fashion and have a look flashy but tattoos originally had another purpose as we can clearly see with the example of the Maori tribe.
